Project Name: The Painted Lady: Designer Show House
Twenty talented local designers worked their
magic to revive this home’s original grandeur.
Architectural Concrete Design was among them.
This quaint Victorian home was chosen for the 2006
Designer Show House by the Hammonton Historical
Society.
We rerouted the front walk to the center of the lawn to
create a welcoming entrance and focus the attention on
the facade of this “Painted Lady”. We designed the
walk to curve gracefully into a small patio or “outdoor
foyer” at the foot of the porch steps. The Used Brick - Herringbone pattern from L. M. Scofield Company's LITHOTEX® Pavecrafters® line of imprinting tools and embossing skins was chosen to complement the age and
colors of this historic home.
The backyard patio and
drive were conceived as separate areas, working
together to create a beautiful functional whole. The
patio is built in a classic quatrefoil (or four-leaf) clover
shape, frequently seen in Victorian architecture. The
driveway; which was colored with LITHOCHROME® Color Hardener in Steadman Buff and LITHOCHROME® Antiquing Release in Deep Charcoal; serves as additional entertaining space when
extended family comes to visit.
